From Side B of the album. You can now hear the whole side on Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/4647530
I've found this video on one of my Hi-8 tapes (hasn't been erased yet). Also still have the sound files to go along with it. This video was taken in April 2008 before I would have the software to edit videos from DVDs.
I got "Hot Tomita" from eBay a few years after Y2K.
Moussorgsky; "The Great Gate of Kiev" from "Pictures at an Exhibition"
Camera: Sony CCD-TRV-608 Hi-8 Handycam
Video Capture: Insignia DVD Recorder (instead of that low resolution Dazzle DV-80)
Edited with Nero Vision 4 from Nero Essentials 7.
This work (Pictures at an Exhibition) by Moussorgsky is one of my favorites, and Tomita's use of the Moog makes it otherworldly esp. the piece abt the skulls --it's either "Catacombs" or "cum Mortuis in Lingua Mortua" -- you can almost "see" light shining from the skulls in the catacombs, it is so vivid. Amazing.
