@cavegirl4caveman =Absolutely, GO FOR IT! The sooner the better. I forgot to mention that after the surgery, some recovery and a release from pain, I realized that I had had low grade depression over the period that I was in pain. Be gentle with yourself. Take care and I wish you luck!Let me know how it goes.

@cavegirl4caveman I have been in pain for 2 years now and am so "over it". Tried the needling procedure (that was fun) and didn't work. So I'm going to schedule the surgery. My understanding is that if they don't go through the tendon the recovery is much less time? I am self employed so not being able to use my right arm is scary to me...

@cavegirl4caveman- Watch the youtube video "Calcific tendonitis - Dr Albert Diaz shoulder surgeon Danbury CT". He explains what he's doing as he operates. Apparently the pain is caused by the calcium "leaking" into the rotator cuff, causing an inflamatory reaction. Very interesting. I was in progressively worse and worse pain over a period of about two years BEFORE my surgery! -had trouble sleeping, couldn't comb my hair (among other things!) - just your average AGONY! Thank G_d for the surgery!

@cavegirl4caveman-I guess you must really be in pain! The surgery takes about 40 minutes under general anasthesia and after the initial healing period of about 2-3weeks, you go for physiotherapy where you exercise trying to regain range of motion. That is painful too! It takes 2-3 months to regain motion but its a progressive thing; it takes a while. You also have to regain strength. Swimming can help. Please get a GOOD surgeon! They're not all alike. Any other ? feel free to ask!

@Coupal1 - Hi! I need to have this surgery and was wondering how long it took you to recover fully?

@cynlynj - I had arthroscopic surgery done on my shoulder several years ago and was miraculously released from pain! The calcium is suctioned out and the whole rotator cuff is irrigated.

Its what i just got diagnosed!

What happens to the calcified matter after it has been squeezed out? I saw a lot of pieces started to float around.

Sah!!!
Strip of leather between my teeth should do it then!
It does if you don't have an anaethestic Richard...... come on, be a soldier and dismiss the pain....
SHOULDERS BACK, my boy! Shoulders back!
