Before Crisis Elfe Scene for a friend

PLEASE READ!

Well, here is another video for FFVII but there's a bit of a story with this one.

A dear old friend of mine, a fabulous girl named Yyani, has been interested in trying out voice acting for a little while now. She's already a great actress thanks to being on stage for most of her life, and she loves acting of all kinds. Once We talked about a voice acting session... Well, the rest is history.

Why this scene though? Well we talked about Final Fantasy a lot, and before we started VAing sessions, I realised there was one scene that I've been trying to get out for a little while now. Then I realised Yyani's voice is a good match for Elfe. So while Simbaga is on hiatus because of a busy lifestyle (WE MISS YOU COME BACK SIMBIE!!!!) I decided to give Yyani a turn with this character. I must say... For a girl who's never done this kind of acting before, she is brilliant.

So again: This is her VAing debut. Encouragement is requested, trolling will be penalised.

Shotgun, named Alida in the dub until Square says otherwise, is voiced by my girl Karla. OH she worked hard on this one! Once nearly even losing her voice. babe, I am so happy you did this with me, and I'm sorry I was so pushy! Thank you again and I love you ever so much!

Finally, this is a sneak peak for what will come this year. Yes THIS year! I am so sick of waiting to get FF7 rolling, and I think some of my actors are sick of waiting too. Sephiroth - Aussieroth: Hmm.. What can I say about three lines? I thought they were all done well. But if I may personally say something about how you portrayed him with that first line, he sounded like the evil Sephiroth after he finds out he's a spawn of Jenova, he was relatively normal around this time so I don't think it was necassary to sound so intimidating.

And oddly enough the line "She's their Leader" sounded like you put WAY too much emphasis on the surprise factor. Yes she would be surprised but not up to the point where she sounds bewildered beyond her comprehension of reality. Try to keep it somewhere in the middle. I liked your battle grunts too! Sounded natural to me! ^^

Alida - XBlackTaintedHeartX: Nicely done Karla, I'll admit it was hard for me to properly critique you with all that hysterical emotion but when I actually thought about it it all sounded very much natural, but being the nitpicky bastard that I am I have to point out at least one flaw. ;) The line "This doesn't look good" felt too underwhelming. She thinks she's about to die so I don't think one would sound so calm in that situation.

Elfé - Yyani Rose: You portrayed the character well. The emotion in my opinion was well done and the I have no complaints about the battle grunts. My one minor complaint is that I felt more emotion could have been put more in the lines "Prepare yourself Shinra lackey!" and "Resign yourself to your Fate." Remember her comrades were slaughtered so she should still feel some anger toward Shinra. All in all not bad for your first VA session, keep practicing! ^^

This was a pretty good dub. I really liked the fight scene between Elfie and Shotgun, and I thought it was particularly well done :)
