An obituary for George Harrison following his death on 29th November 2001, aired on "Today Tonight", Seven Network, Australia. Includes portions of a 1995 interview, presumably when Harrison was plugging the Beatles' Anthology.

  • the song at the start?

  • @Juvercooler "From Me to You", the third UK single. Unless you mean the brief spoken word bit which is a snippet of John from a BBC broadcast.

  • Whats the song at 1:55?

  • @TheseFilthyHands1 It's "Free as a Bird" the first Beatles "re-union" single.

  • 4:19

    what video is that for?!

  • @GarsinX It's the promo video for "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" from George's 1974 LP Dark Horse.

  • George, you may have been low profile, but we never forget you. We'll always love you, George. You have a lot of fans with autism who love you and some even use Harrison lyrics and quotes to get a point across. George, we'll always love you.

George was such a beautiful man with thick wavy hair. Boy, that Beatle looks like Louise French Harrison!

  • @spinalcrackerbox - Well, that's my point. George's life

wasn't compelling ENOUGH to attract a wide audience.

Thus, his film premiered on cable TV where people are

ironing clothes or making dinner or sleeping. If you made

a FOUR HOUR documentary on paint drying there would

always be guys like you watching. You're the same people

who think "Reality TV" is REAL. In the end, there's a reason

why TV quality never rises above the level of a 7th grader.

That's the level of intellect watching.

  • @thegrinchl7 "Asking a lot"... hmm. Was anyone forced to watch it? I just don't get your arguments anymore. I loved every second of it - you didn't, BFD.

  • @spinalcrackerbox- LOL Why am I posting? If one starts

watching Scorsese clips YT invariably will send you all of

his work, including Living In A Material World. Even when

you split it up into 2 nights, it's asking a lot. Asking people

to watch for 4 hours means it better be REALLY compelling.

Since HBO chose to skip theaters and send it straight to

cable TV...how "compelling" can it be? A four hour docu-

mentary about George Harrison would be like a four hour

    tour of my living room!

  • @thegrinchl7 This is all your opinion, mate and "everybody's got one" - spot the Beatles lyric reference! Harharhar!!!. Don't like it - watch something else. I watched it and wished it had been twice as long. ... Why make these comments here? Find something you like and say what you like about it. If we all bitch about what we hate, this world will become a real shitty and negative place.

  • @spinalcrackerbox - HBO often makes films available for

THEATRICAL RELEASE. Some have even won awards in

Caen and the Sundance Film Festival. That they chose to

dump a Martin Scorsese film about an ex-Beatle on their

roster is an extraordinary defeat for both director and subject.

That he made it a FOUR HOUR MARATHON did not help his

project any. Few celebrities, but particularly George Harrison

are interesting enough life to justify a FOUR HOUR OPUS.

    Scorsese must be regretting it.

  • @thegrinchl7 The Scorsese documentary was never meant for theaters. And you are a TROLL.

  • @mmg1123 You mean this as satire, right or just to be witty and a contrarian?

  • @mmg1123 well out of all the beatles John had the most issues he was a homosexual that wouldnt come out and also a herion addict after he got with yoko. Not sure thats considered talent.

  • @mmg1123 - I watched a John Lennon video, then...

YouTube gave me all kinds of Beatle related material

to watch (you know how that works). I pressed the

wrong button and unfortunately got Beatle-Light instead.

Sorry. By the way, George's new documentary skipped

theaters and went straight to cable TV. It looks like I'm

not the only one who thinks George's talents were marginal.
