By 1945 the world was very distrustful of Germans. The world had had to deal with first Kaiser Wilhelm II ...then Hitler...two very similar men in some ways.

Fool me once...shame on you.
Fool me twice...shame on me.

Remember that this was just an orientation film for U.S. occupation troops in the immediate aftermath of WWII. Everything in it reflects the sensibility of that moment. Actually the U.S. was hostile to Napolean III also. We armed the Mexican resistance to his puppet Emperor Maximillian to keep the French out of the Civil War.

If thats the summary of german history, then american would be: "Go to other countries, declare freedom for all! Of course we will be the ones defining freedom, LOL!"
Most part i have no problems with this, but thats because the american model of freedom is satisfying enough. If they would be going around and declarin every place jesusland, i would.
But you should remember that that freedom is not for all, because everyone does not appreciate it. So dont just "spread it ´round" like that.
