In English:
Good afternoon Welcome to my first and last talk here at the casa verde. I know you are all so excited. As most of you know, this semester we have been talking about heroes heroes both from the Bible and heroes in our lives. But today, instead of starting with the hero of the day, I want to start with a question: Why? So simple, yet so complex. You have all asked this before. Why am I here? Why have I come to Puebla? Why did I date her? Why did I do that last night? Why am I here today? Why did God put me here on this earth? Why? Why? Why? Today I want to offer you an answer to the question of why.

Moi would you please read Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40 And the King will answer them, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me"

"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me"

Amazing

I want you to look around. You and the people around you are rich. You have opportunity. You will soon have a college degree. In many ways you have already been blessed and God has done great things in your life. And all of that is great, but if we look at these words of Jesus you have to ask Why do I get this opportunity and these blessings, what's the point of it all.

In many ways the answer to your question of why is that you are being called to help others. For some of you this means spending your semana santa in Ciudad de Juarez building houses for people that have no where to live. For some of you, like our friend ely, this means going to another country to make friends and tell them about Jesus. And still others, might work for a church, or at an even cooler place, like the Casa Verde dont forget to see erin for your intern applications. But the fact of the matter is that many of you wont end up doing any of these things and thats ok.

Do you know why?

Because today, the hero I am talking about is YOU! Even if you dont go to Juarez or do any of the other things I talked about, you have the opportunity everyday to help someone, to feed someone, to offer kind words, to show support to someone who really needs it.

In First John, John writes: (4:9-12)

9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

This is my prayer for all of you, even long after leave this place and graduate, that you would think of how you could help others. It is a huge responsibility, but you could change the world. And just think, that in the words of Jesus whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

Gracias
