The Hypersub is the world's first autonomous, small submarine capable of high speed surface travel over long distances. Visit our web site at hypersub.com. This is a promotional video made from the best clips filmed during the first series of 21 test dives made in Kingsley Lake, FL by the prototype. During this testing, the prototype logged over 25 hours of submerged time with two (occasionally three) crew on board at depths up to 30 feet. For each dive, the prototype charged its own systems (air and battery) and motored out using its 880 hp surface engines, carrying up to 225 gallons of fuel. The longest dive was 1 hr, 45 mins. using only cabin air. The longest single-dive distance traveled submerged was approx. 1.3 - 1.4 miles. The prototype attained submerged speeds in excess of 2.5 knots. All dives were conducted with a light battery load, and with a proper load the vessel could have gone up to 34 miles submerged in one dive.

  • you need to bring that somewhere cool like Maui or something, that lake is boring!

  • The lake is close and we don't have to worry about sea conditions on top of prototype testing and debugging. We do plan to take the prototype to the Keys later on this year. The Hypersub will first be re-fit with some hull changes to increase the surface speed, followed by a short run of lake testing. After that, it will go to the Keys for filming and then to the public debut (date to be announced in the next few months). After that, look for it at the bigger boat shows in the U.S.

All that's left to get is an army of inexpensive, expendable henchmen in diver suits.

  • So did this thing sink or something? It's been 2 years.

  • Stingray!

  • @Dutchdrummer99 I'd disagree...this is not geared toward average Joes' I would expect the cost be in the millions and the customers who would want this won't be hooking it up to a trailer and their F350...they will have lackeys to wax it...

  • I like this equipment, may this equipment promote in Indonesia, Bali and Batam/Riau

  • Is it joke idid not see it in underwater hig speed manuver ,only wery slow .Amd if You should be able to sel it show it in hig speed from airplane ore an helicopter, not as an surfase boat. Christian

  • Here is more about the Hyper-Sub.

No Way, I want it huge to house three couples and a washer and dryer, full cabin, Sat TV, and able to go to 300 feet. Range above water, 1200 miles, under water speed not so important. Time under with full crew should be for two weeks. Nice to be able to drop under out of bad weather and resurface after the storms have passed.

  • Whats the projected maximum depth?

  • I probably would've been interested in buying one, if it weren't for the totally lame music accompanying the promo video. What is this, 1991?! Blecchhhh!

  • DOOM WANT!!!
