  • Land of LAKE believe?!?

  • @Qermaq A lot of clams?? You must be hearing things. It's not perfect but it is an outstanding performance of a wonderful song. If you're trying to analyze a piece for perfection, you're missing the point.

  • ...I suspect that Chuck might also own a trumpet with a Dizzy Gillespie style bell ( that Dizzy may have given to him???), but I have only seen one picture of Chuck ever playing a Dizzy upbell trumpet. - Dr. Michael E. Schmidt

  • ... the horn you will see on most of his clips. Think of it this way, the flugelhorn with the lacquer bell is a Yamaha 631, and the flugelhorn with the copper bell in his latest clips is a Calicchio. Chuck plays on a Calicchio 1s7 trumpet, which is basically the only trumpet that Chuck has ever played on at a rare time when he does play the trumpet. You can hear Chuck play the trumpet on his earliest of recording, 60's era)...

  • Chuck currently plays on a Calicchio flugelhorn (that I suspect has a John Duda made bell) (1989, Chris Calicchio era) w/ a copper 6 1/2 bell. Chuck plays on a custom mouthpiece (Chuck told me so himself when I spoke to him in person and asked) that he had made to be similar to his original couenon mouthpiece, the mouthpiece that he used on his silver 731 (Chase the Clouds Away, + Feels So Good clip when Chuck was introduced by the late John Denver) , and his lacquer Yamaha 631 flugelhorn, ...

  • stamina much?

  • @Qermaq

    LAAAAAL i didnt notice

  • Oh, I just read through some more posts, and saw below that Mark Manetta passed away... so sorry to hear that. Was that really Gordon Johnson who posted below? :) Oh, love your performance in this concert too... everyone was great I thought! Love the bass solo on Hide and Seek!

  • I just love this concert video from 1989... I play it all the time!! I think the band members here were a great combination.... and to those who didn't recognize them, well there's Billy Martin on percussion (now of Medeski, Martin and Wood) and Rob Mathes (vocals, keyboard, guitar), Joe Bonadio (drums), Gordon Johnson (bass) and Mark Manetta (guitar). I so want this music on a CD as well... I don't have the know-how to grab the music from the video, unfortunately. The concert is great!

  • goddddddddddddddddddd

  • whats up with the thing he does with his tongue in the middle

  • ho yeah, esther satterfield shines in this. las vegas baby. the sunrise painting the desert is something you'll never forget. and with this in the background, nothing could be better. layin in bed with the one you luv doesn't hurt either.
