would you recommend using MKV for uploading to youtube? and if so, what bitrate and encoder would you recommend?

720p @ 9500 Kbps

1080p @ 1300 Kbps

Those are good rates to make Blu-Ray comparable copies. But depends on your setting and CPU thats decoding and encoding.

I'm not able to recommend any specific tool to make the MKV, because there are newer and better ones coming out almost on a weekly basis so one from last month won't encode as well as the one released last night.

So I just looked at the back of my computer and realized it had an HDMI port. The quality is jizztastic now.

@cillcamst2 actually the new ps3 update that just came out allows it to play mkv files now and i connect through the mediaserver so i can watch my 1080p mkv's on my 47 inch tv. no offence
