Well, it looks like the Football Association may finally have found their man. If press reports are to be believed, it seems former Real Madrid and AC Milan coach Fabio Capello is set to become the new England manager. Good luck to him and all that but with those glasses I can't help thinking he looks a bit like Eric Morecambe...
What this means, of course, is that Jose Mourinho will not be the new England coach. Having met with the FA this week, the former Chelsea boss ruled himself out of the running, saying "After deep and serious thinking, I decided to exclude myself from being England manager, despite being a fantastic position for me." Not so "special" after all, are you Jose?
Finally, former Liverpool winger and Strictly Come Dancing twinkle-toes John Barnes has landed the job of part-time Scout for Sunderland. Not a great job, you may say, but Barnes' patch won't be Wearside, it'll be the Caribbean. That's right, Barnes will be looking for talent right across the West Indies, assuming he can put down his cocktail and extricate himself from his hammock.
