  • Yay bassoons!

  • This piece is so melancholic. The music, along with the title, leads me to imagine walking alone through a huge and empty hall of stone, dimly lit by candelabra and adorned with dark, richly colored tapestries on a chilly fall evening.

  • I miss the snowflakes :(

  • Princess Tutu brought me here.

  • When I first heard this composition I thought, "This makes me think of an old castle." And then I read the title ;D

  • @cheeseintheair I did too! I hoped I passed my final on this piece! I love the orchestra version more than it just being a solo~

  • Actually the player is spot on. Counting in this piece is complex, and enhances the mystery to it all. Close you eyes and follow the lead. It flows and the orchestra follows. The Monk at the foot of the castle is alone, he's not singing to any conductor. This piece inspired my sax playing for years.

  • So good...

  • @ruscello490 Is a melancolic piece!!!
