A huge parade with great martial music. It's led by a multi-service composite band and plays three great marches. The first one 'sounds like Sousa' but is not, followed by "Drawn Sword Party" and "Warship March". Watch the great left flank movement at 3:12 - signalled by the drum roll off. • We have a history of DIStrust of the military = and of keeping the military under civilian control. We do have SMALL military parades -- typically a retirement parade at a military academy, military base or the Pentagon. To see one such parade search on "West Point Parade" or for another search on "Military Parade at the Pentagon with Marine Corps Band"

  • I did not even know Japan still had military parades. I live in Japan and most Japanese really don't like the military. This video is surprising.

  • @lukebccb Actually, the IJA was based on Prussian military.

  • @UminoNuko FYI, the goose-step originated in Prussia during the 18th century; not Nazi Germany. And China is far from poor.

  • @UminoNuko: But the Japanese military "looks" a lot like the American military NOW cause after occupying Japan the Americans re-organized the Japanese military.

The Chinese military march look as such cause it was organized along the lines of the Soviet Red Army and in turn the Soviet Red Army was descended from the Czarist armies that was heavily influenced, organized and even trained by Germans.

  • @UminoNuko: If you bothered to research it and pay attention you'd notice that the Japanese military marches really resemble the British military marching and that's cause when Japan modernized in the latter 19th Century she turned to Britain as an example so thus Japan's military has a very British "look" to it. That goes to explain why the Japanese drive on the "wrong" side of the street like the British. Her navy was also copied along the Royal Navy lines.

  • @shylildude Because of world war 2.....

  • @UminoNuko In old movies Japan Army lifted the foot but not so much as a goose step.

  • @fr8542

The ignorance is a crime. All your remarks are coming from your imagination, or Are you liar? Have you ever seen real movie? You have to watch Japanese army's one.

Japanese Army and Navy never used to goose-step on their parades.

Japan Self Defense Force's steps are similar old one.

Only Poor communist country such as North Korea and China imitate Nazi and Soviet Union goose-step style. It makes me laugh so much

  • almost identical to the greek military parades.

  • @ambagoli21 That's stupid! Simply because one person's regime did so doesn't mean that Japan can still continue to live in the past. Right now they are sitting ducks to China and USA won't be able to do jack if a war starts in their region.
