Obama meets Hu Jintao in Beijing says Tibet part of China

Beijing, Nov 17 (IANS) US President Barack Obama Tuesday said the US government recognises Tibet as a part of China.
He also said that the US supported the early resumption of dialogue between the Chinese government and representatives of the Dalai Lama to resolve any concerns and differences that the two sides may have.

The US respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China, Xinhua quoted Obama as saying at a joint press conference with Chinese President Hu Jintao here.

Look at all of these poor Tibetans whining and yapping. Tibet has been a part of China since the 13th century. Just because you were the dogs of the British does not mean you ever had sovereignty. Tibet has always been part of China. Has been and will be. When Tibetans joined other Chinese to manage the country millenniums ago, America you know today was inhabited by the Indians. Not the Kelings, the red Indians.

also i hear so many people say "why dont they just leave?' many tibetans are denied the right to leave and are shot if caught trying. even those that make the freezing cold month long trek over the tibetan plateau/Himalayan pass. chinese PLA soldiers are stationed in tents along ridges near the pass where the have even been recorded by undercover indian and british journalists, to shoot anyone caught making the journey.

from the 1300's till the 1700's many of the chinese emperors actually regarded tibet as an ally territory but not under its rule. in fact many of the emperors actually only based theyre soldiers near the borders of tibet as a precaution in case tibet came under the attack of any other nations, notably the mongolians. then sometime after the early 17 or 1800's a peace treaty was signed between the ruling class of the mongolian empire and the dalai lama

well, you are wrong. i am not a racist people. but the truth is a nation which stay in a tough place like tibet can not develop very well unless join into another larger nation. although you have your own culture, but it cannot be very advanced based on the geographic sitituation..
