First video of my estonian related genre.
Before you comment, consider the fact that estonia
had to select one side, and it couldn't be the side
of communism because they done great harm
to us and deported and killed many innocent people.

  • Hi, nice video! Currently I read a book about a german soldier who joined the estonian resistance against the soviet occupation of Estonia in 1945 and fought side by side with the Metsavennad. I never heared about that till I discovered the book. Could you tell me what estonians think about germany today? Greetings!

  • @draistRomol

hi, it's been a reaally long time since making the video and by now I am not so nationalist-minded anymore because history is history and stressing yourself with "what if"-s when thinking back to the really old days is only adding up to the bitterness and disappointment.

Anyway, as for me I have some respect for germans because they are culturally very close to estonians, probably closest of all nations. Estonian people too as a whole are not very far off from this opinion I guess

  • @KraChZiman But it is this history which is the strong foundation of your country now.

Deautschland owes a lot to Estonia. They had a good friend in Estonia but this was blurred by the hate campaign of so many Nazi leaders. It still astounds me how many soldiers joined Deutschland against the USSR after they were already in retreat and after so many attrocities commited. To this day, the Russians cannot come to grips with this. Greetings and highest honors to your great country from the USA.

  • @rampking1 Leaders of Germany, Estonia and Russia always had a thing for their own, especially the leaderships of nazis and commies, as they were very war-mongering goverments, and soldiers just ran along with it. The common folk never wanted a war, their leaders insisted on that they need one, but how could an average family back that day profit from a war? they couldn't !

Thank you for your generosity, I am glad to see an american with a smart political opinion out here :)

  • Great video mate¡, 5*

  • oh thank you watch others too :)

  • Vahipataljonis lauldakse veel üks salm:

    Sa Eesti oled püha,

    mu kallis kodumaa,

    sind kaitseda ma tahan

    ja sulle elada.

  • Long live estonians. With honor from Latvia.

  • @draistRomol

Estonians have theyr own issues with germans because of the ancient freedom war, when we were forced to change religion it was forced on us with fire and sword ,then we were slaves of to german masters for about 700 years. We fought and defeated Landeswehr in 1919,But when communists were in Estonia for 1 year it was worse than the 700 years of slavery.. thats how bad russians are.

Most people feel sorry for Germans and think they ceased to excist as a proud nation in 1945

  • @Neytrino1978 Vot protiv takih urodov kak ty, moi ded i vojeval.

  • @k22rma I cant guaranty if it's the same but I suppose so because the original version of my book released in 1958 like the one you named and also to be mentioned they almost have the same subtitles. The only difference between the old and the new version are some changed names and facts because the author feared the soviets might kill him even in West Germany for his resistance against the red army in Estonia. It's definitely worth of a try! Plz tell me if it's the right one if you try, thx!

  • @draistRomol

I did not find English or Estonian version of this book, but i did find

"Der Wolf von Laekvere" by Hermann Behr. Maybe its the same book, but with alternative name?

  • @k22rma Yes for sure, the title is "Die Waldbrüder - Ein deutscher Soldat bei estnischen Partisanen 1945-1949" by Hermann Behr.

  • @draistRomol

Could you share the name of this book?
