@esclarmonde1 Oh I can think of someone on youtube.....not me though!!!!! I think this role was perfect for her voice - no one has or will ever be able to sing it as well as she did!

I still remember the day I bought the LP (*LOL) of this recording, put it on, and was BLOWN AWAY. Sybil Sanderson (the originator of the role) could never have had a voice anything like 'La Stupenda.' After listening to this opera, it became my favorite among French Grand Operas - and, precisely because it is so difficult, no one (of any worth) has done it since Sutherland. Thank God we have her recording!!! RIP, Dame Joan.
