Aren't you Americans ashame of using electricity or radio, both invented by Nikola Tesla, a Serbian inventor? Or why aren't you ashame of using multi-stage rockets for going into space, when you know that Konstantin Tsiolkovsky invented them? And so on...

Yeah right? Well, in Afghanistan he gave weapons to Al-Qaida, the same illiterate idiots who you fucked you in the ass few years ago and continue doing it. You gave them weapons to battle Russia and now you cannot defeat them too, not even 20+ years later.

@SerbianPaladin Hahaha. You are retarded. No one invented electricity, it is a naturally occurring phenomenon. Tesla did not invent the radio, Marconi did. And Tsiolkovsky didn't "invent" the multi-stage rocket. It's concept dates back to 14th century China. Furthermore, aren't you ashamed when you turn on a light bulb, which was invented by Thomas Edison, an American? What you should be ashamed of, however, is how comically arrogant and ill-informed your statements are.

How committed were they really to this and how much of it was just political hot air?

@SerbianPaladin electricity cannot be invented, radio was invented by an italian, and the industrialization of electric power as we know it was led by Edison..furthermore, Tesla was a naturalized American.

@SerbianPaladin Why would i be ashamed to use these inventions ??
Well certainly banning all nukes by 2000 was a pretty over-optimistic proposal...

@thelyniezian Indeed, I for one firmly believe in the practicality of nuclear power, the events in Japan in recent hours will provide an invaluable insight into containing a nuclear emergency. I had an inkling the Japs were going to have the odd problem at their nuclear facilities, even though they are a highly efficient race. Don't believe in Green Party lies about nuclear power, it will win out in the end.

@BigDon62 Nuclear power can hopefully survive without it being an excuse for producing weapons-grade fissile material, though. Whilst I do not pretend that nuclear power (and the mining of uranium) are not free of problems environmental or otherwise, I do agree that the enviro-extremists are trying to put it down too much, and it at least is not a *direct* producer of carbon dioxide. Japan? Well, the earthquake was bigger than even they're used to...

@thelyniezian [1} Nuclear power will survive & prosper I have no doubt of that, your comments regarding weapons grade material is noted & is my only ongoing concern regarding nuclear power generation, a simple look around the world today shows us there are many nations that should not have any nuclear programs what so ever, let them be guinea pigs for the extreme greens, that way those troublesome countries can stay in the dark ages while we in the west continue to prosper as their....

@thelyniezian {2} governments have no liking for western ways anyway & they must yield their nuclear capability, by force if necessary. Regime change is their best hope anyway, given them a taste of the dark ages in the mean time, that will teach them. As for the situation in Japan we now at least can see a first world nation deal with a nuclear problem. Not since the days of Three Mile Island & in the then CCCP at Chernobyl has such a good opportunity arisen, rather tragic for The Japs....

@thelyniezian {3} they had to fall victim to mother nature's fury, but nuclear proponents & the world can benefit from how they handle these nuclear mishaps for an even safer nuclear world.
