What is the difference between F1 and F2 and so on?
-
@codycats Probably because the dog is more "their size"...

The dog is like, "O . O Im trying to get Savannah the dang ball but this cat has a attitude!" lol

My little kitten sylvia and my 3 servals are total enimes! Do you think I can get them to play with each other?
-
@codycats Awww... My Savannah boy still hisses and bats at our dogs. My Bengal doesn't mind them as long as it's not all four of them bombarding her! LOL I hope they get along some day. The kitties love the family cat though.

The F numbers refer to the generation beyond the wild ancestor. For example an F1 has a wild parent and domestic parent/ AN F2 has a grandparent that is wild. ..etc.

How did they get along with the dog at first? My savannah loathes the dogs...

@rileycoyote1
They loved him from DAY ONE! I was worried at first because Marlo is a personal protection dog who is trained to kill if necessary. The Savannahs do not like the other cats in the house though. They prefer the company of the dog.

@codycats Hi I was looking to get a savannah cat. I actually love cats and dogs but cannot get a dog because I'm out of town and work sometimes 12 hours in a day. Do you recommend a savannah? Are they OK being left 12 hours at a time? Can they be left alone for a weekend (w/the TV on and plenty of toys and an automatic feeder?)Also are savannahs affectionate? do they like to cuddle/ sleep in bed with people? are they pack animals like dogs, will they follow you around? THANKS for info!

I would NOT get a Savannah Cat if you are not around much. They need lots of stimulation and company otherwise they will entertain themselves by destroying your house. Even if you are there the will do damage. A secure out door enclosure for them to play in will help a lot!

That's a smart dog! You told him to give the cat the ball and he did!
