We were one of the first on the scene of a barn fire in Akron New York. We called 911 and tried to help out until the fire fighters arrived. Nobody was home but the next door neighbor was already busy moving farm vehicles out of harms way. He released about 100 head of cattle from a pen that was dangerously close to the burning barn. Minutes after he released the cattle from the pen straw in the pen erupted in flames from the searing heat. Hopefully this man whoever he was is awarded a medal of bravery for rescuing the animals and saving what equipment he could.

I'm not sure about that as the trucks are expensive as heck. However what some rural communities are doing is putting rural township vollie stations that have a brush and pumper/tanker that are able to hold off until a town dept can arrive. Where I live you are no more the 15 minutes from a Fire Station so we don't have a need for those.

  • hope you had insurance

  • @jbk4419 That is my barn that burnt down. there was 2 gas tanks and 1 diesel tank all of them exploded and a saline tank from welding also exploded and landed on the front yard behind a truck.

  • that what sucks about living in the country side it takes for ever for fire trucks to respond to the fire. that was a pretty nice barn to
