@traceyannsteele it is hereditary, have the boys monitored by their doctor with EKG's etc to see if this is occurring, so it can be treated

i have just lost my husband 2 weeks ago with this heart condition he was only 44 years old, they said he only had it mild but he deid while washing the car, i`m so said how i cope i don`t no, i am only 36 years old and i am left with 3 boys which i here could get it as well is this right

in regards to pathophysiology i believe that the HCM genotype not only results in hyperplasia of ventricular myocytes, but also to fibrosis which leads to a decrease ventricular compliance; thereby resulting in diastolic dysfunction. Also, I think that the proliferation of myocytes is the actual cause of arrythmia like A-fib since the fiber disarray disrupts adjacent gap junctions and ultimately electrical conduction through the heart.
