Just watch the rear end on those curves, esp in the wet. I had an MGC GT 43 years ago and on tight bends it could be a death trap. Big heavy six upfront and little weight at the back. Felt like a proper sports car, which it was at the time. Give me the Porsche these days.

@BritCarGuy Thanks! I was wondering how wide you can go at the back. I have 215 at the front and had 235 at the back

My dad did the same thing but against a Nissan GTR and the C did a good job of keeping up

This is truly one of the more enjoyable videos that I have had the pleasure of seeing. No music, other then the beautiful sound of that Austin six with no wind noise. The driver of the "C" definitely knows his car, as he uses the available torque without over revving. The driver of the Porsche on the other hand, brakes too early, and needlessly. Listen carefully as the "C" enters and exits. Very little braking out of place. Great video. Thanks for posting.

Most enjoyable, you made a good point about old versus new, also gave the german job a run for its money! bravo!!

@BritCarGuy Ive got a B with the stock I-4, the torque is ridiculous... but lack of power shows around my place. Wish they woulda made it 5-speed with the o/d...

@travisbickel ????? Those cars are like chalk and cheese. It's a Spitfire against a messerschmitt (and we know who won THAT battle) ;)

I also have an MGC, not a GTS though. I am running triple SU carbs on it, quick rack steering and upgraded suspension. Right now mine's in the body shop for paint and a bit of restoration. It is rhd with the steel dash. I was wondering from the sound of the engine, are you running Webers instead of the SUs?
Lovely car and noise. What's your rear tyre size? 225?

It could have happened on another road, but this one is too narrow and twisty to pass safely unless you're racing a bicycle... uphill! The speed of the cars is much faster than it appears in the video.
