Raedawn Phoenix uses a synesthetic method to translate the live paintings of artist/conductor Angelbert Metoyer into sound. This is an excerpt from a series of new experiments led by Metoyer and Phoenix for the Mckinney Avenue Contemporary. (MAC) Angelbert and I have embarked on a new visual/audio performance method using cooperative synesthesia that can incorporate an unlimited number of musicians . As I-AOI paints and draws on a given canvas, I will be playing the keys on various synthesizers that correspond to the colors, marks and movements that he uses in his time memory, moment, equations as paintings . Each color in his palette is linked to a particular whole note with the use of the color black representing all of the half notes( the black keys). His upward and downward movements will prompt a change in volume and his left to right movements will change the octave of a particular note moving from bass to treble clef paz Raedawn Phoenix
