In 2005 the Defense Base Realignment and Closure Commission determined that The United States Military Academy Preparatory School would be relocated from Ft. Monmouth, N.J., to West Point, N.Y.
Several years of planning and hardwork finally came to a close April 23 as the USMAPS facility officially opened on West Point

im a junior in high school and i rlly want to get into the prep school at west point can anyone tell me how i can do this and also my grades arent the best but i am getting looked at by D1 schools for football  and i heard you can get in for sports if your good and also will a senators recomandation help??

Sounds Great. Two Plebe years! But congrats, CCs, and WP too. It's a great step forward. I was yanked from active duty (FA) into top academics - (SATs went up >500 pts!). But you CCs gotta keep things in perspective here...nothing will ever beat Poopin' at Ft Belvoir (30min fr D.C.) esp '67-8. But AFTER class: a little PT, then no cadre or any rank til CQ at 6am. No restrictions either. Cars OK, Sat/Sun off. Pulled KP, twice, tho. But Prep School 67-8 was the best Army duty that season.

I wish it was still at ft. Monmouth, I lost some good friends from the move. But my goal is still to go to west point and serve my country
