Harold "Horizontal" Carmichael, happens to be the Philadelphia Eagle's best Wide Receiver in franchise history. He is notable for using his height advantages to lead him to an spectacular catch. The up's and downs inherit Harold Carmichael's career, and yet he is able to overcome the bystanders of criticism, and becoming a very unique, once in a life time talent in the NFL.

  • @CoD3x4life he got many of those yards prior to the 1978 rule change, a bright spot on some very poor teams, and still does have a super bowl appearance. he should have garner some consideration and if you ask Ray Didinger, he'd probably say he should be in.

  • @SolarGamer ok julio jones and aj green aren't on Randy Moss or Calvin Johnson's level.also i thought you was talking about the nfl needs more 6 foot 4 wide outs or taller.I know a lot of wideouts 6'2 and 6'3 wideouts that are good.

  • @jason60152 they cant be rare finds because receivers like julio jones and aj green are both 6 4 and where drafted this year. malcom floyd and v jax are both 6 5 and they are plenty of quality 6 2 6 3 recievers like miles austin and dwayne bowe. tight ends make their money with there large frame and height so recievers should be able to that as well. like in the video above, they expected harold carmicheal to catch every ball that was thrown at him just because of his frame.

  • @SolarGamer ooops sorry Steve Smith play for the Panthers.....hahahaha .Your right but most tall guys like Randy Moss,Megatron, and Plaxico Burress are rare finds. Most athletic guys like that play basketball.I believe Lebron James or Carmello Anthony would be great wide outs.

  • @jason60152 well yeah the receivers you mentioned are great receivers because of their speed and hands. but height and physicality are such big factors when catching balls. im surprised most receivers are only 5-10 to 6-0. there are such strict standards on height and weight for linemen why not receivers?

  • @SolarGamer So guys like Desean Jackson or Wes Welker or Steve Smith for the Jaguars shouldn't be wide recievers?

  • honestly why are wide recievers in the nfl so short. you see how all the tall recievers have great success like calvin johnson and andre johnson. in my opinion wide recievers need to be at least 6 3-6 6

  • @Dev17cmd He was a great WR don't get me wrong but him only having 9,500 receiving yards and no SuperBowl rings sadly doesn't get him in...

  • Man, I love the EAGLES as much as any diehard EAGLES fan ANY.... This was my favorite team as a kid... #7 Ron Jaworski at QB... Wilbert Montgomery at RB and Harold Carmichael at WR.

  • Don't know why he's not in the HOF, he was one of the best receivers in his era.
