Amie Steele: Rocawear I Will Not Lose Campaign 07

I'm Amy Steele, the Editor-In-Chief of the Virginia Tech student
newspaper. Growing up, with both parents, I had a very normal
lifestyle. In high school I played three sports: field hockey, track
and soccer. I always knew I wanted to go to Virginia Tech. I started
at the paper as a freshman and now I'm in charge. The job is basically
a 40-hour workweek, in addition to going to school. One of my
reporters called about the shooting on campus. Juggling our emotions
and being a journalist, was tough. I'm proud of everyone on my staff
for dealing with that. I think all the students are just trying to
heal. We're never ever going to forget what happened. But with support
we can sort of put it behind us, move on, and try to learn from it and
become closer.
