(www.vest.si) Sounds of Slovenia in Brussels

On Tuesday, 17 June at 20:00 the central Brussels venue Ancienne Belgique hosted 24 Slovenian musicians.

Slovenian folk music is a souvenir from the ancient past, the echo of the space carrying inside it the variety of Slovenian regions and the performing musicians such as Vasko Atanasovski, Rudi Bučar, Boštjan Gombač, Eva Hren, Vesna Zornik, Katice, Jararaja, Katalena and others, presented the Slovenian folk musical heritage in contemporary arrangements under the artistic leadership of Janez Dovč.

Slovenian Presidency closed in the year of intercultural dialogue (2008), so the Government Communication Office of the Republic of Slovenia working in cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board prepared this event. The evening took place in the context of the presentation of the label I feel Slovenia and each guest received a practical present as a part of the concert surprise. The guests were offered the traditional dessert potica and Slovenian wines were available, too.
