Sony HDR HC9 High Def - Close-up videography. Our cameras are exclusively SONY, and it's not professional cameras but consumer handy-cam camcorders. The close up of the flowers and bee were shot outside at a winery in bright sunshine. There was no additional lighting used. I spotted the bee gathering pollen and put the camera to 'MICRO' setting and started filming from perhaps 12 - 18 inches away. I think the results are quite good and demonstrate the quality of the image captured by the Sony HDR HC9 camera, which is a one chip consumer video camera.
Extreme close-ups are a great way to go beyond what most people film with their cameras.

  • Thanks for sharing. Were you using the "macro" mode or just relying on the Wide conversion lens and zooming?

  • @OneFabFisher I was using the Macro mode.

  • no special lens added ? no 35 mm ? nothing ? only HDR HC9 ??

  • @pazz51 It had the wide conversion lens.

  • did you use macro mode to get that nice depth of field please ?

  • @pazz51 Yes this was the macro mode.

  • @bizzarrogeorge I have this camera, it's not great. It's better than any SD miniDV camera, but it does haven't a progressive mode. The Canon HV30 is a bit sharper and has progressive modes.

  • Excellent video work! Also glad to see somebody else using music from Audionautix. That guy is cool and puts out great royalty free music. Thinking about getting this camera to be a a backup/ second camera to my FX-1000. You were the first video I watched, and I am very impressed with it's image quality. Keep up the good work!

  • @ktm016 Either one would work extremely well - just depends on what you want to use them for. I do prefer the 3 chip in the HDR-FX7. However if I was strictly doing nature I would probably go with NEX - it's small, light and has interchangeable lenses and the 1080i video quality is excellent.

  • @Cumminsturbo205 It's by audionautix
