Video was shot using panasonic DMC-ZS3 using the avchd lite video codec. The .mts file was uploaded directly to youtube.

VLC is the only player on mac that will allow you to view the footage. imovie will not properly transcode the footage for editing. I believe the reason has to do with the inconsistency in frame rate when shooting in avchd lite. The clip calls for 60p but the ccd output is 30p. In order to properly transcode the footage use voltaic. Cheers.

  • i hate horses!

  • it has 60 frames per second (fps) input mode, out put is 30fps

  • I have no idea, maybe 720p or 60fps, but i doubt the camera can record in 60fps

  • What does' 60p' refer to?

  • I read on the net that Panasonic is working with Apple to resolve this AVCHD LITE issue.

  • Thanks a lot for the technical advice. Didn't know before!

But with VLC, you need a modern and fast Mac!
