WOW! thanks for the info,, cause im about to live in Aguadilla an my husband tells me that its hard to go there blah blah blah,,, that it cost money,, hmmmmm,,, now i see, he was just tryin to get out of taking me to swim in that beautiful place,,, wow, i cant wait,, i adore water*)

No.just drive up the mountain , We vacationed there on Dec 27, 2009. The blizzard was everywhere in the East Coast USA and we left it! We hated to return.

There are many 'parts' to el yunnque, the uppermost part of the mountains is the true rainforest and the lower parts are the 'wet' forest. The good swimming holes and waterfalls are lower, as it all starts at the top and runs down.. Dwarf forest along the very top ridges are the most unique vegetatioin, very beautiful and hard to climb to. Generally speaking PR rivers are not safe to swim in due to a river fluke called Bhilarzia, but as you get above the population zone it becomes very clean
