"The Warring State" is set during China's Warring States Period (475 BC -- 221 BC) and will center on a rivalry between military strategists Sun Bin (Sun Honglei) and Pang Juan (Francis Ng). Both men studied military strategy together before Pang became a top military general for the Wei state. Despite his success, Pang became jealous of Sun's closer relationship to their hermit mentor and had him framed for treason against the state. Sun's life was spared by Pang's intervention but he was branded a criminal and had his kneecaps removed.
Pang feigned pity to trick Sun into compiling his strategic knowledge into a book with the intention to kill him afterwards. Sun became aware of the plot and pretended to go mad long enough to escape to the Qi state where he became a top strategist and statesman. Both men later led armies against one another on the battlefield

This film is gorgeous. We (the US) used to have good looking films, but now all we get is crap(I'm talking to you James Cameron, George Lucas) Look East for the best looking and acted films.

Film is SHI-ITE , a real bag of fresh poo poo plops! Tedious another film looking like Hero/Crouching Tiger - so many like it. I bottom burped and lit it watching this and burnt hair on my ass cheeks, it was so boring.

(shaking my head) Once again, it saddens me to see that history, art, and culture are not appreciated. Sun Bin (descendant of / or -aka- Sun Tzu, author of "The Art of War") was one of histories greatest military strategist. His strategies are widely used today by millions. The movie was an artistic, cultural, and romantic rendering of his life. If you fail to appreciate it for what it is, blame the viewer.

Hahahah! I could not have said it better!. To bad I did see it before.. and yes.. it felt like it.. I almost did what he did in the end, after watching this movie :P
