This was recorded on one of those old, huge, camcorders which I had to hold on my shoulder. I apologize for the horrid job of video taping; the value of this clip lies in the fact that Jim Snyder plays trombone and Bob Neighbor plays trumpet. It was a great night of music and I taped all three sets--not well, unfortunately; but it was a great evening and certainly an historic one.

  • Hey, that's my Uncle Jimmy Snyder! This is wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Thank you for putting this online.

  • I'm delighted to do it! We all loved Jim and what a wonderful trombone player he was. We miss him. I have several more tunes from that evening; but have hesitated to put them on YouTube because I was just starting taping and didn't do a very good job; but maybe I'll try to find another clip that would be okay. Thanks for your interest.

  • It should be noted that this tune is "My Heart" by Lil Armstrong. Thanks! I have been a fan of Bob Neighbor since he used to play with Scott Anthony, Jack Frost, and others many years ago.

  • I think in this case, the video quality is not what makes the clip so great - we were all carrying around video cameras the size of a briefcase in those days, and the picture wasn't always so great. :)

It's the beautiful music, and the fact that it's a moment in time that will never be repeated. I say put them up!

Thanks again for sharing. When watched the first clip, it made me cry a little. I had forgotten how much joy there was in the music that Uncle Jimmy and his friends played.
