@Maelsechnaill Ireland's history is largely built on being a latch on, a cheap copy of Scotland and a place to escape from rather than to go to.

Scottish inventions, contributions and discoveries FAR outstrip Irish ones. That's a fact that is no easy bearing on the average Mick.

The invention of the modern world can be attributed to Scotland, the glorious Scottish reformation, the Scottish Enlightenment etc.

It's easy to see when you put Scotland and Ireland by side, why Irish try to latch on.

@Maelsechnaill There is no Irish connection any more than there is a French, Norwegian, English or Welsh connection, we had history with all these nations, and India during the British empire days too, you see, we have other neighbours, neighbours that are more important to us than just little ole' deserted Ireland, where as Ireland only has Scotland as it's closest neighbours, followed by Wales, so Scotland is far more relevant to you than Ireland is to me.
