Philadelphia Zoo Lion Male Washing and Roaring

The male lion in Big Cat Falls roars a few times in this video, but there are a lot of visitors, and, like visitors do, they are making noise, and the glass also creates a sound barrier, so no one seems to hear him.

Also, when the video is unsteady at times, that's because other visitors kept bumping into me! (I like seeing lots of other visitors in the Zoo, but ...)

Yes, he really is a very nice lion. He seems so gentle and peaceful - it's hard to think of him as a wild animal that could potentially be dangerous.

After a few weeks, I will get used to the summer crowds - it's just such a change from the peaceful, quiet winter-time visits!

Most visitors to the Philadelphia Zoo are very nice and considerate of each other.

Sometimes I worry that I'm the one who is being rude when I see an opportunity to record a really good video and I maneuver my way into a place with a good view.
