While I won't say good things about horse racing as a sport, you have to love the horses. Unlike all other athletes, horses don't do drugs, beat their wives, flaunt their money, or get in trouble with the law. They run because its in their genes, in their bones and in their blood.

I get goosebumps, too! I was just 17 then, totally into horses. Secretariat was something phenomenal! And I was totally in love with him! There have been famous horses since; Big Ben, Jaberwocky, Hickstead, but I think there's no horse as famous, or as outstanding as Secretariat.

Glad to know I am not the only person that finds this amazing horse an insperation. His three races that year where thy first non football sports events my dad and I watched that I remember. I was almost 6 when this happend and i remember me and my father both jumping up and down yelling "go Red go." After this race finished my father looked down at me and said "Remember this son because if you live to be a hundred you'll never see anything like this again." Still one of my fav sports memories.
