There is a medical need for novel antipsychotic drugs. Currently available drugs modulate dopamine receptors and do not affect cognitive domain of the disease. There also problems with compliance and tolerability of drugs. Schoepp advocates the use of glutamate receptor modulators in the therapy of schizophrenia.

  • It is not an illness. It is a condition of the mind not of the body. You are pushing a system that creates a reinforcement loop of pain, confusion and lack of self reliance and personal responsibility for mental health.

  • @trakomako what i feel is best is prayers, at times fasts, at times keeping away from the media..which has to many ubseen entertainment. and really try to solve our issues from within. everybody has issuse they have to deal with. Medicine might only take you away preety much like a zombie. then that is more issues for your issuse. Islam is peace and you should watch some videos on the real Islam and see what you think..

  • @trakomako and thats not always the best solution.

  • Hello, GREG ROSE,

Before I even listen/watch this faux interview why don't you begin by addressing your weight (obesity) problem and get yourself beyond your bogus, post PhD problem.

Your voice is ok. I won't say more before I hear a real someone.

P.S. And for you Darryle Schoepp, get a real job with something that helps people and not just some professionals' problems.

  • Strange how the antipsychotics were intensifying the symptoms that they were prescribed to take away. What were the name of the drugs you were given?

  • This interview is skewed: there is no mention of dopamine or norepinephrine agonists...glutamate receptors? These do not work by themselves! Nothing really to learn from this video except Merks' idea of marketing...

  • The type of antiphycotic i was taking was risperidone.
