摘要
「視覺音樂」(Visual Music)是一種將音樂特性整合進視覺影像創作的嘗試,從早期的色光對應、抽象繪畫、實驗動畫、音樂影片、燈光秀、多媒體表演一直到近期的影像騎師(VJ / Video Jockey)。不論其屬於商業娛樂或藝術領域的爭議結果為何,皆無法改變它確實已於當代藝術趨勢潮流中存在的事實。
本創作是從關懷自我身處之地-「臺北」的角度切入,由作者的親身經歷出發,以「臺北城市移民」與「臺北通勤族」兩種特殊的「臺北流動」為主要的創作內容。創作媒材包含了「聲音」、「音樂」與三個螢幕輸出「影像」的相互觸發。創作手法上結合錄像藝術、多媒體應用概念的影音控制與視覺音樂性質的VJ表演模式,作者同時也是自己影音作品的演譯者,主動參與作品的呈現中而成為作品的一部分。最後的創作呈現則是兼具「紀錄性」、「表演性」、「即時性」與「數位多媒體特性」所進行的現場即時影音整合創作表演。

Abstract
Visual Music, the use of music as a model for all kinds of visual art presentations is a long time search from Color Music, Abstract Painting, Experimental Animation, Music Video, Light Show, Multimedia Performance to Video Jockey(VJ). Although the dispute, is VJ an art form or just a commercial entertainment, that still exists today.
Taipei, the theme of my creation, is the city where I was once lived in Taiwan . The moving of people in and people out of her is what I personally experienced and very interested in! I use the VJ method in my creation Taipei Image of Sounds and try not only to jockey the visuals but also play music, sounds when I created and showed it. I tried to join in my creation, my show, with the characteristics of documentary, performance, Live show and Multimedia Arts and convey a different perspectives of Taipei to the audiences.
