Hollyscoop.com gives the scoop on Celebrities who are High School Dropouts. Images by Wenn.com.Video hosted by Nora Gasparian / Twitter: ‪http://twitter.com/‬NoraGasparian

From Simon Cowell to Whoopi: 10 Celebrity High School Dropouts that made it big in Hollywood.

Hey everyone this is Nora Gasparian for Hollyscoop. While many spend years going to school, some of Hollywood biggest makers dropped out of school at a very young age.

So who dropped out and made it big? Stars like Al Pacino, Tracy Morgan Jim Carey all dropped out of school at a young age, but the biggest surprise is Simon Cowell.

At 16, Cowell dropped out of high school because he thought it was a waste of time. But hey, who needs an education when you have a British accent? That makes you sound smart enough. Add some glasses and a tweed coat, and you're a damn genius!

The entertainment indust is like taking a gamble,  if you get lucky, you can have a million dollar career with only a sixth grade education.

He is a drop out as technically your education is not complete until A-levels. In Simon's day bright kids took O-levels and less able were forced to take CSEs. If you were a CSE student like Simon or someone taking one or two Olevels - you could not really take A-levels . So he had no choice but to leave. He would not have been able to stay on at school - so it is his bravado talking. The fact is CSE students and poor performing O-level students were practically kicked out at 16.
