  • @firemanCV just wanted to say thankl you for saveing me almost 2200 dollars in labor cost. My wife has a Saturn and with the help of your vid I was able to fix the tranny myself. Thank you again the main reason i keep the car is it is good on gas and already replaced everything from the alternator to the radiator. But now was wandering do you know about replaceing the timing chain on a 97 Saturn SL2 1.9 DOHC? N-E suggestions would be appreciated. Also thank you again.

  • @TennesseeHillbilly85

Glad to see your from Tennessee like me :)

Is there a reason your replacing it ?

I have seen saturns go 200,000 miles and more without replacing them.

    I know, I have 4 of them,lol

I have a video, that I need to put together just for timing chain replacement.

It's a pain to do, but can be done in a short amount of time..

Did u visit saturnfansdotcom at all?

I will have a video within a couple weeks or so.

  • @fireman did u drain the fluid prior to doin this?

  • @omarG19100

No , no need to drain it.

Is a good idea to use new filter & fluid :)

  • @FiremanCV if (D) isn't a gear than it wouldn't strip nuttin by shifting hard like that right?

  • @omarG19100

Look at link up above for saturnfans and look on that website for reverse slam cure

  • I have a 95 saturn sc2, I changed the trans filter yesterday and noticed the 2 connectors that connect next to the filter, the wires where really in bad shape. where can I get new wires or connectors for my car?

  • Just a big thank you to FiremanCV, excellent video, excellent explanation. Really was a huge help when I replaced the valve body on my Saturn.

Thanks again, you did a terrific job.

  • @firemanCV can u tell me how would u remove the connector from from ythe tranny if its stuck? i over tighten it and cant get it to come off.

  • @59racers man im having issues myself lol. i changed the solenoids and now its worse than b 4. ppl say that if u change the trottle position sensor that will cure shifting issues too. if i was u i'll give it a try.

  • @omarG19100 my saturn will not shift down at lights or pulling a steep hill. even if you put shifter in 1st or 2nd it always takes off in drive. it does not seem to be slipping. i pulled tranny cover and checked those five soleniods and they all read 4.6 to 4.7. what else could cause tranny not to shift down. i also cleaned all ground connections.
