I bought the Taurus 1911 (not aluminum) based on the recommendation of my local gun store. Mine came with the Taurus wood grips which really look good. I was really surprised how accurate the gun is and after 1500 rounds (various brands) not one problem. It is a terrific gun.

BTW.....for anyone interested, Larr's Pistol and Pawn in AL (google) is one of the largest Taurus dealers in the USA. They are running a special on this model of $449.99 as of May 2011. I just bought one from them. It can't be beat at that price.

I'd be surprised if nobody else mentioned this but those are Novak sights, or at least they should be, not Heinie, the Heinie is dot over dot
