There is a huge difference between a genuine transexual and a male child discovering dresses out of fancy. If I know that my child doesn't have an inclination towards being feminine, I don't want him to be ridiculed by wearing dressed out of fancy. Besides, what will he accomplish in life by cross-dressing? Men and women think differently, proven scientific fact and transgendered (genuine ones, not those nutters who dress to satisfy a fetish) proves this also.

And what do you mean by gender roles? If I had a son I wouldn't want to dress him up in feminine clothes. There's a HUGE difference between being transgender and gay; people feel they are gay later in life but even then, most of them act like men instead of being effeminate, in other words being something they are not and it is a parent's duty to prevent their child from doing things that are destructive to them.
