I have no one to give a scary book to, no one I know reads willingly.

I will give one to myself :(

The gift you gave became the very weapon of your demise. How ironic.

Hah, if only I'd had so much patience. More like, "Here's a copy of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, it's due in about a week. No, don't show me the pictures!!!"

...and then I got chased around the house a bit.

This year I had a bit more cash, so I printed out and bound up two short stories for my sisters. (Still actually working on The Yellow Wallpaper, because of Frankenstorm.) Yay, public domain!

For this, my second All Hallow's Read, I gave the poem "The Spider’s Web (A Natural History)" by E.B. White to every trick-or-treater. When I told a neighbor the origin of this, she said, "We have to go have coffee." She is a Sandman fan. Who knew?
