  • what is the music playing?

  • @StuffyDowding1940 Its Called 'Berliner Luft', played by the RAF band.

  • why have they not given an airworthy certificate to just jane she is completely restored what a sight it would be to see her and the city of lincoln together in the air

  • Agreed mate, it would be a sight. But that question came up after the morning 'brief' they give you before boarding. They said it would take about a million quid, and all four engines need to be stripped and basically rebuilt. On the bright side, they said it could be done in one winter. But they dont have the initial outlay. It is after all, a family buisiness.

  • @Hanglands They are planning to make her airworthy once again real soon, on my last visit (May Bank holiday) 3 brand new Merlins were sitting in the hanger waiting to be fitted :-)

  • @linearskater Yes, I read on a forum that four had been ordered from abroad for "a bomber project in the UK", NX611 was the obvious candidate. Just coz theyre there doesnt mean on its own thats a sign she'll be flying.... But I was told that was the ultimate aim at the last night run I went to - its also been said on Radio Lincs since then by one of the Pantons.. Also heard theyre extending the runway to accomodate her. I have another VIP day there in September, will see what new then.
