This is the tie worn by the Merovingian in the restaurant. I've been wearing this tie since I first saw it in the theatre, its called an Edeity Knot.

Some excellent information about the knot and a written how-to can be found here

  • This is not a different knot, this is a Full Windsor knot that has been flipped. I have figured out how to tie a true reverse knot, "True Merovingian", and I'm *not* telling :)

  • @qrrb Yes, I believe I've said that a bunch of times here. It's a little different, but it's basically the same.

  • Please don't wear this during an interview.

  • @Pooqua Yeah, that would be crazy, you'd spend more time explaining the knot, than explaining your resume and skills ;)

  • Its a backwards full windsor, that's all

  • @veduardov Yep, you got it.

  • WRONG!!!!!

  • @lalythil Thanks for the explanation. You are indeed correct.

  • @Rascaduanok No The Atlantic knot is a different knot all-together. In the Atlantic knot the two diagonal parts do not overlap, whereas in the edeity knot, they do. just search for some images and compare them. :)

  • Do you seriously get compliments from women on the knot itself? Any time a woman has ever complimented me on my dress sense it has always been my tie itself, and never the knot!

  • Is this not the ‘Atlantic Knot’?

  • This is great mate, but if you have the thin bit at the front ... the fat bit should be tucked IN your Shirt .... NEVER out!

  • ..........your tie is backwards............

  • Is this an uncommon traditional knot, or was it invented for the movie?

  • how the fuck can you tell what kind of knot he tied just by looking at it?

  • Thanks Frank for this excellent tutorial.

I'm a Half and Full Windsor knot fan but I'll add this to my choices.
