I attempt to explain Bourdieu's concept of social capital in about a minute. Obviously, I left a lot out, but hopefully this sparks your interest in learning more about Pierre Bourdieu and social theory.

By the phrase "we think we have friends," I am referring to idea that agents often "misrecognize" the forms of capital that they possess
