Like NJT4211 said, this would be going to Hoboken. There is no connection between the Motown Line and the NEC, at least southbound, anyway. And since you can not legally run a diesel engine in NYC, all MidTown Direct trains are powered by ALP-44s or 46s

you're lucky to see Comet Is with a GP40FH-2 now a days, they were well common when sliders were used still.
