I always wonder about the lineage of the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation...I could be off, but--I imagine that many are descendents of the twelve tribes and don't even know it. DiRTSr makes a great point, which begs the question even further: who are the other 132,000 Israelites? Guess we'll have to wait and see!

The 144,000 are not all jews. Judah is but one tribe of the twelve. In Revelation it even mentions the tribes, with each having 12,000 of the 144,000. All of the original twelve tribes are NOT jews -- only 12,000 are. (see Rev. 7:4-8 and Genesis 49)

also as I have understood it, these are those that have heard or had an opportunity to believe the truth, but refused it. They were either approached with the truth, or had read it, and CHOSE to not believe it. Thus, they were hardened. This story follows much like Moses vs Pharaoh. Those who question, or ask questions, about the truth and about the voracity of anti-christ, are still seen as having a chance of saving. Once you choose sides, that's the end of the ballgame.
