  • with ohm's wont the numbers change with temperature? i did a cold temp testing and all of the numbers were within your noted specs (although i have a SIGNIFICANT reverse slam and a building 1-2 slam). what would the "within spec" numbers be under hot temperatures?

    thanks

  • @thesinwagin

Yes, Ohms will change with temperature. why it's important to check hot and cold.

Solenoids may only act up hot, cold or both.

  • @FiremanCV 200 ohm's with the valve body still in the car.. here are the results under temperatures after the car has sat over night.. 2nd gear: 4.9-5.0 3rd gear: 4.7-4.8 4th gear: 4.9-5.1 Line: 5.1-5.3 TCC: 4.8-5.1 and this is after driving the car. at normal running temp (roughly 3/8 on the temp gauge) when the trans is at its worst.. 2nd gear: 5.9-6.0 3rd gear: 5.8 4th gear: 6.1-6.2 Line: 6.4-6.6 TCC: 5.7-5.8
  • @thesinwagin 2nd gear: 4.9-5.0 3rd gear: 4.7-4.8 4th gear: 4.9-5.1 Line: 5.1-5.3 TCC: 4.8-5.1 and this is after driving the car. at normal running temp (roughly 3/8 on the temp gauge) when the trans is at its worst.. 2nd gear: 5.9-6.0 3rd gear: 5.8 4th gear: 6.1-6.2 Line: 6.4-6.6 <------****** Looks like your problem is here !! TCC: 5.7-5.8 Did you try swapping out the solenoids ? Also, how does the bus connector look? connection to transmission on top
  • @FiremanCV haven't swapped anything yet, have been trying to find the actual problem root instead of throwing parts at it.. the bus looks great, no corrosion or burn marks at all. on top of the line that you mentioned, some people have mentioned changing the ETCS..They say it can change the shift points and hang rpms while downshifting to raise engine temp faster...does this sound right?

  • @thesinwagin

ECTS can affect many things, I own 4 saturns and have worked on many others, never has the ECTS replacement made a difference for me, not saying it won't for you.

Saturns are buggy when it comes to electrical connections.

Make sure all your grounds and electrical connections are good, as well as your charging system, like battery/ alternator.

ECTS is very inexpensive, so worth a shot to replace it :)

  • @thesinwagin

If your line did get a reading of a 6.4-6.6, that is the solenoid that isn't close to the others.

If you look at my other videos, I show you how to swap them out.

Last time you did a filter & fluid change?

Let me know how you make out with this.

  • If the line pressure solenoid is bad will it make my saturn shift like a musclecar?

  • @triumphoverderick

Check out saturn fans dot com. someone there might know.

I just go to a junkyard test the solenoids & if good, use them.

    They are all interchangeable.

  • I was wondering if you know a website where I could purchase the line pressure solenoid? Thanks.
