In 1980, Spielberg re-edited and added an interior Mothership scene to the end of his great film. As a result, the film lost some of it's quality of wonder. In 1998, a third cut of the film was released on DVD, and it feels like the best of the three. All three versions were released on Blu-Ray and DVD in 2007 in an "Ultimate Edition".
