Nauru est une petite île du Pacifique entourée d'eau de tous côtés ! En raison de sa forme, on l'a surnommée la "papate". Et au beau milieu, il y a une gigantesque mine de phosphate à ciel ouvert qui, par le passé, a fait la richesse des insulaires. Aujourd'hui sous les cocotiers et au bord du lagon, la mine de phosphate s'est épuisée.

I agree with you vanjkos that this is a total ecological disaster. Guess what, it started in 1907 when Nauru was then under German colonial rule. It was perpetuated by the victors of WW1 & WW2, the British, Australians & New Zealanders. The condition for political independence in 1968 was to continually supply those three markets, particularly the latter two.

I hope you are ironic! This is a total ecologic disaster and this is exactly what would happen to planet Earth if it was small like this island.
Anyway, this is how the earth will look like in a few hundred years if we continue behaving like we do now.
