Song begins at 0:50. "Grateful", the encore for my senior recital. It wasn't on the program and only my accompanist knew I was singing it. This one is... very special to me. I dedicated it to everyone who has supported me over the years, and helped me on this journey. Especially... to my mom, who without her love and support I wouldn't have made it through college, and had the courage to continue this journey into the world of performing. The song reminds everyone to celebrate every moment... ever person, because there so many things to be grateful for. This is for all of my friends and family. :)
John Bucchino wrote this song originally as just a separate song, but was then incorporated into a show called "Urban Myths" for a character dying of AIDS. Within the context of that show, the song is sung to his very angry and bitterly hurting partner and to his family at the very end, as the man is ready to pass. The song was then taken and put into Bucchino's song cycle "It's Only Life". It has been heard in concerts and cabarets ever since. This is my personal rendition. :) Thank you everyone.
