Best Left Unspoken, Volume 3, 2007

For Elsie is based on a folk tune that was popularized by Beethoven with his Für Elise. Why The Residents picked it up is unknown, but they recorded this 30-minute version in 1987.

  • I'm just starting to discover The Residents, started just 6 months ago listening to their music. These guys are GREAT. Amazing. I Think it's apropiate that they "do" Beethoven because like someone else said on YT: these guys are so far ahead of their time and will be recognised only years after they finally have to quit because of old age...

  • Never even knew this existed. The Residents are great but I had no idea about them having their own For Elsie version. But I love it, thanks for the upload!

  • @JeroenWZutphen Well, then you would certainly LOVE "Pollex Christi" it is extremely rare, but it is on youtube.

FYI, the Residents will never die. They are an on-going collective that will always have a lineage.

  • @JeroenWZutphen That's a silly thing to say - why would they quit just because some people died?
